Our Product Recommendations

If you want mobile broadband to use on your travels, or will only be a light internet user, we recommend O2 Pay As You Go Mobile Broadband.

If you want to use mobile broadband as your main home broadband connection, and you are going to use 3GB of data every month, then think about an O2 Mobile Broadband Contract, as data usage rates will be slightly cheaper.

You can sign up for a contract safe in the knowledge that if your mobile broadband performance at home does not meet your expectations, the contract can be cancelled within 30 days of purchase under O2's Happiness Guarantee.

O2 offers a 30 Day Happiness Guarantee. If you’re not happy, you can return the USB modem within 30 days and O2 will refund the cost of your USB modem, plus cancel any contract you have. We would also advise including written notice of your wish to cancel.

Broadband speed test results achieved in our preliminary testing in June 2010 were as follows:

Average Broadband Speed: 0.30 Mb/s, based on 7 results.

Value for Money

O2 Pay As You Go has a Daily Mobile Broadband option and can therefore offer very good value for money if you're only going to be using the service occasionally.

O2 mobile broadband contracts offer reasonable value for money, and compare well with most other providers. Whilst it is true to say that you can find more generous data allowances from other providers, we think network connection performance should be the primary consideration when choosing your network.
