Our T-Mobile Product Recommendations

If you are going to be an occasional mobile broadband user, we recommend T-Mobile Pay As You Go mobile broadband.

If you are looking to use mobile broadband as your main home internet connection, then look at a contract. Make sure you obtain a Coverage Guarantee Code when ordering in case there is a problem with the mobile broadband coverage at your desired location.

T-Mobile Broadband Pricing and Products Available

Pay As You Go modem plus one month's data usage for £18.99 (Special Offer Until 30 Sep 2010). TopUp rates are £2 a day, £7 a week or £15 a month (fair usage policy of 2GB per month applies, usage may be restricted if you go over this, but you won't incur further charges).

T-Mobile Broadband Contracts from £15 per month (£10 per month for the first 3 months) which gives 3GB of monthly data usage (after which the fair usage policy may restrict your access, but you won't be charged more).

T-Mobile Mobile Broadband Returns Policy

If you experience coverage problems, the modem can be returned within 7 days providing you carried out a coverage check and obtained a Coverage Guarantee Code when ordering. (Correct as at 25 Jul 2010.)

T-Mobile Broadband USB modems are advertised as Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Mac OS X compatible. (Correct as at July 2010.)

Value for Money

With its Pay As You Go mobile broadband, T-Mobile differs from many of the other providers by charging for given time periods, i.e. per day, week or month, rather than for particular data amounts. We feel this charging structure offers good value for money, particularly for light users.

For those wanting a contract, T-Mobile pricing is broadly in line with that of other providers, offering 3GB of unrestricted data use per month for £15 per month (£10 per month for the first 3 months). Once this allowance has been used, the service may be restricted in accordance with T-Mobile's Fair Use Policy but you won't be charged any more (unlike with some other providers).

VOIP / Skype Policy

To use Skype or other VOIP services on your T-Mobile contract mobile broadband you need to contact customer services to upgrade from the standard contract.

VOIP is blocked on T-Mobile Pay As You Go mobile broadband and cannot be unblocked.
