Our Product Recommendations

For those that will use mobile broadband occasionally when away from home, we recommend Vodafone Pay As You Go Mobile Broadband.

If you are going to use a lot of data each and every month, then look at a full Vodafone Mobile Broadband contract, as this is likely to work out cheaper. Make sure you test your mobile broadband modem as soon as you receive it, so that you can make use of the Returns Policy if you do not have good mobile broadband speed at your desired location.

Vodafone Mobile Broadband Products and Pricing

Vodafone offers:

- USB modems for Pay As You Go or contract mobile broadband on your laptop.

- Mobile phone tethering to give mobile broadband on your laptop, subject to your mobile phone contract.

Vodafone Mobile Broadband Returns Policy

If you do not get acceptable mobile broadband coverage, you can return the product and cancel your contract within 14 days.

Note that online purchases are also covered by Distance Selling Regulations. Under these, you have a 7 day cooling off period. So, if you decided you didn't want the product, you would be entitled to return it and cancel your contract within 7 days.

If your modem is faulty, it will be replaced up to 28 days after the sale.

This returns policy also applies to Vodafone Small Business Mobile Broadband.

Vodafone USB Modem Compatibility

The Vodafone USB modem (or dongle) is compatible with Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Mac OSX 10.6.

Typical Broadband Connection Speeds

We are currently testing Vodafone Mobile Broadband and hope to bring you detailed information on connection speeds shortly. However, as at July 2010, in the limited testing that we've done so far, the fastest download speed we've obtained has been 2.76 Mb/s.

VOIP / Skype Policy

Skype can be used, but the data used is charged for separately. This means if you're on a contract it does not come out of your monthly allowance.
